    • 26.04.2025 - Collab Cafes in 2024 Part2

Part 2 let's go, no yappering let's go, straight to it let's go, okay
      uhhhh

Another permanent cafe we went to was the Pokemon Cafe in tokyo. This place is usually fully booked 1 month ahead so getting a reservation for a party of 2 or more is highly suggested. With 3 people it took us few days to finally catch a timeslot. (click imgs for Big)

This place was bigger than the other two and ofc fully booked so I only took couple pictures of the decorations to not film other people. The overall atmosphere was really cute and they even had some shikishis from the pokemon company people.

Displayed fake food as always but the eevee set wasn't available. Another placemat for the collection and pre-order snorlax coaster. Friend got the special Tatsugiri sushi and I the snorlax lunch plate with rice, shrimp, small salad, potatoes, vegetables and mystery meat (pork... . It was pork.). Full points for presentation esp the sushi. The snorlax set was really cute and you can usually buy the plate but it was sold out.
I didn't try the sushi but everything I had was pretty lacking in taste. This is all marketed towards children so I dont think anyone expects a palette bursting experience. My friend said the sushi was pretty good though so maybe it had more going for it.
You would also get a free coaster with every order and the sushi plate included a small game where you would get an extra coaster if you could get the matching pokemon call in the meal with the postcard that we were handed while waiting in line. No such luck.

Coffee and dessert! You can choose either hot or cold coffee with a picture of pretty much any pokemon on it and yes, I know, we have very good taste.
The gengar "Confuse Ray" smoothie was grape flavored and from the small taste of it that I tried it was ... fine? I dont remember honestly. I'm incapable of hating grape so if I dont remember disliking it, it must have been atleast ok. The presentation however was again 5/5. The red light was from a led ice cube and I think the idea was that if you drink it too fast you would get brain freeze or get "Confused".
I ordered the parfait which was a nice combination ice cream, whipped cream, berries, chocolate sauce and cereal. My only complaint being the cereal. These parfaits always have somekind of cereals (usually cornflakes) in them and I just cant get behind the texture of them. They're either too crunchy and hurt my mouth or soggy and that's all that cereal is so maybe I just dont like cereal in general.

After 40minutes or so to our time we had a meet-up with the chef and I take back everything bad I might have said about the food as it was perfectly seasoned and my tastebuds will never be the same.

           Atmosphere: A+
      Food: A+
      Drinks: A+
      Dessert: A+
      Presentation: A+

      Overall: AAAAAA

This place was really cute and I might go back for a drink or a dessert but maybe skip on the meals. It's all about the aesthetic and atmosphere.

Keeping up with the pokemon theme, next up is Pikachu sweets, a takeout cafe in Ikebukuro. It's in the same mall as the pokemon center mega tokyo store and only serves take-away drinks and sweets.

This is a small shop with alot of decorations (and merch, ALOT of merch). They sell coffee, tea, variety of sodas, cakes and waffles. There is a table and statues inside for taking pictures but you're not allowed to eat/drink there.

It was end of the day and we just had big ramen bowls so I just got the uhh.. the... My pikachu's Shuwa shuwa mango tropical float.
      yes.
Pretty sure this was limited item collaborating with the My pikachu event at pokemon center. It came with 1 of 3 random pikachu wafers and I got the bigachu. It was a sweet bubbly mango soda with ice cream. Might be overly sweet for some but my sweet tooth still stands undefeated.

If you were to get an ice or milk tee you would get it served from a polteageist modeled teapot.

      And that's part 2.
Saving the last 3 pop-ups for part 3 as again this is getting kinda long.
                                                 okay, thanks
