    • 19.04.2025 - Collab Cafes in 2024 Part1

Last year I went to japan for the second time and what I wanted to do was make blogs about everything I did but... Life.
HOWEVER. Right now I want to yap about collab-cafes and that's what Im going to do.

I Love cafes (tho not as much as I used to), I love themed things and most importantly I love oshi-culture so there are always some themed-cafes on my list of things to do when in japan.

Collab-cafes, theme-cafes, anime-cafes etc come in many different shapes and the most talked about ones which you might come across in social media are the "permanent" ones. Most require a reservation but they're not going anywhere so you're usually not in a hurry (unless they are having a collab of their own).
This time I went to 7 (+1 demon slayer restaurant in universal studios) cafes, 2 of which being pop-ups and the others mostly permanent locations. Let's start with a permanent "walk-up" cafe; The Cinnamoroll cafe in Shinjuku.

      Atmosphere: 3.5/5
      Food: N/A
      Drinks: 4/5
      Dessert: 3/5
      Presentation: 4/5

      Overall: 3.5/5

This is a walk-up cafe so there is no resevation and since we went in the morning there wasn't that much of a line either.
The cafe was small but cozy and we got to sit next to mr.roll himself. Since this was more of a "morning coffee moment" we just ordered coffee and a dessert each (and the obligatory blue drink... So far Asia is the only place where I can get blue drinks that actually taste blue). I ordered the limited-time strawberry cake and marshmallow cappuccino. Coffee was great and the "cake" was more like a strawberry sando but japanese bread is pretty much just cake anyway so it worked.
      The price?
      I Don't remember...
      You shouldn't think about it..
      It's fine.
Next up is the Eorzea cafe! And a bunch more photos from here. I've been playing Final Fantasy 14 since A Realm Reborn so this place felt something like a pilgrimage to me.. In 2017... When I first visited.... .. . ...... .. .
But it was great this time too.

You need a reservation for this one which nowadays is pretty easy to get online. There is a fee of 1,200 yen but it includes a drink and a limited coaster. You can also just try your luck at getting in without a reservation but this isn't quaranteed.

The placemats (that you can take with you!) were themed to the little ladies day event and the gold saucer one we won as the second prize in a raffle. Unlike the cinnamoroll cafe in which you just told the waiter what you wanted, here you placed your orders on a pad. Alot of places have started to use these which I think is just.
      ... Fine.

Shadowbringers you will always be famous...
All the classes have their own themed drinks and since I was playing dancer alot at the time I ordered the dancer drink and chose a great bean (krile) coaster. ALSO I brought keychains made by my friend ( MILKA LOOK AT HER BLOG AND ART ) with me. They were CUTE and made everything around them MORE CUTE and I just think they're really neat.
      krhm.

Some characters, bosses and primals also had drinks inspired by them and the titania drink was really pretty and sweet (and just like every other drink in these cafes, f u l l of ice ) We shared the beaver korokke which were nice and crispy, nothing exceptional, it's potato. But just look at them.
The fat cat bun was filled with meat and the chocobo bun with custard. I love custard filled desserts so I forgot to take a picture before chomping on it.... Sorry.

Im a sweet-tooth so more dessert. I got the potion drink, which tasted very blue 5/5, and the black mage tiramisu which was also very nice. I have a pretty high bar for tiramisu so I was a bit worried but it was good! My friend got the chocolate cake which he seemed to enjoy.
You get a coaster for every order so we ended up with a good amount and like in all collab cafes there was a merch section from where I grabbed a postcard book and some acrylic stands.

      Atmosphere: 4/5
      Food: 4/5
      Drinks: 4.5/5
      Dessert: 4/5
      Presentation: 4.5/5

      Overall: 4.2/5

      How much did I pay?
      ...
Did you know they have a point card in which you get a point for every order you make. I managed to get to the first prize which gets you a pin of one of the city states, I picked gridania and now it sits on my shelf with my other ffxiv stuff so overall, priceless.

This is getting really long so I'll make this a part 1 and continue later (sooner than next year I swear).

                                                 okay, thanks
